ISCOMS Research Fellowships
The ISCOMS Research Fellowship (IRF) gives students who have presented their research at the ISCOMS an opportunity to acquire a taste for doing research in the Netherlands and more specific in the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG). In 2011, 16 projects were available for 28 students.
Various Research Institutes at the UMCG are interested in welcoming young and talented foreign (bio)medical students to their institutes and give them the opportunity to experience what doing research in the UMCG is like. As a student you get the chance to perform research at a leading institute, meet top-researchers and learn about the possibilities of doing a PhD-programme in the Netherlands. IRFs are available for foreign presenting participants only.
The IRF is a challenging two week programme in which students are expected to actively participate in research at one of the UMCG Research Institutes and gather a great deal of knowledge related to the topic of research. The fellowships take place directly after the congress, from June 11th until June 22th 2012. This makes it convenient for students to participate in an IRF, as no additional travel costs have to be made. Accommodation free of charge will be provided for the duration of the project and participants will receive additional pocket-money of 100 euros to facilitate their stay.
When your abstract is accepted to be presented at our congress, you will receive information about the IRF application. It is important to know that we only have a limited amount of places for students to participate in these projects. Therefore, we have a special application procedure for the IRF-projects. You can find more information about the application procedure under ‘IRF Application Guide'. It is not possible to apply in any other way.
Good luck with your application!
You can find the projects for 2011 here.
Please note that the IRF projects are only for foreign students who will present at the 19th ISCOMS.
