IRF Application Guide

If you are interested in participating in one of the IRF projects, and you have been selected as a presenting participant of our congress, you are cordially invited to apply. Please note that every participant is expected to attend the fellowship for the full duration of the project. This year the IRF programme will take place from the 14th until the 24th of June 2011.

Application
To apply for the IRF programme, your abstract must have been accepted. Once your abstract has been selected, you will receive an email with the link to your personal registration form. You must complete your registration by choosing sessions and workshops, accommodation and on this page you can also apply for the IRF programme.
Please note that the following documents will be required:
• Curriculum vitae (with accurate timeline/dates and max. number of 2 pages)
• Letter of Recommendation from your supervisor
• Motivation for participating in an IRF (with explanation about your preference for a specific project, with a max. of 300 words)

The following questions will be asked in the IRF-application registration.
• Approximately how long have you been doing research? And, briefly, which subject(s) have you been researching?
• How do you feel about research on animals?
• What is the status on your Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis immunization?
• What skills and/or techniques have you learned up until now? (e.g. PCR, cell growth techniques, etc)
• Do you have experience with statistical analyses? (e.g. with SPSS) If yes, please explain briefly.
• Do you have any extended knowledge of imaging? (e.g. fluorescence imaging, etc)
• Do you have any experience with the gathering of scientific literature? (e.g. Pubmed) 
• What is your first, second and third project choice?


Once the application deadline for the IRF programme has passed, a selection procedure will take place. The Research Institutes and the ISCOMS organisation will select the participants on the basis of their application.

Within 3 weeks after the deadline, we will contact you about the results of your application. Unfortunately, there can be no correspondence about the selection procedure.
