The Scientific Programme committee consists of four girls and one boy, who are proud to be organizing the scientific part of ISCOMS 2012. We have a broad range of tasks to fulfill. Not only do we make sure that you can present your research in a plenary, oral or poster session, we are also in charge of the keynote lectures, the workshops, the pre-course and the ISCOMS Research Fellowships.
During the keynote lectures three internationally renowned researchers will share their knowledge and experiences with us. There is also a debate where you will have the opportunity to give your point of view and discuss about Healthy Ageing. So even if you are not yet familiar with research, you can visit these lectures, actively participate in hands-on workshops, find yourself struggling in ethical debates or gain new scientific skills.
For students who are interested in doing research in Groningen in the UMCG, we organize a two week ISCOMS Research Fellowship, which takes place directly after the congress. Another possibility to come in contact with researchers from the UMCG is the workshop "Speeddating with Researchers" which will be held twice during the congress. In this workshop you can fire all your questions about doing research in Groningen at members of the different Research Institutes.
We think ISCOMS is the perfect opportunity for students and young researchers from around the globe to present their work, meet fellow researchers and get enthusiastic about research. We very much enjoy creating a challenging and diverse Scientific Programme for ISCOMS 2012, so we hope to welcome you all at ISCOMS 2012!
