Awards


Plenary award
This is the most prestigious award you can win at the ISCOMS. The first price is worth €1500,- and the second price €500,-, which you can spend visiting medical congresses of your choice! The winners will be chosen by a special selected jury of renowned medical scientists and bio-medical students.


Plenary presentation: Audience award
The winner of this award will be determined by the audience who can rate every plenary presentation. The presenter appreciated most will receive €500,-.
Please note, that prizes consisting of an amount of money should be claimed within a maximum of three years after the congress. The plenary award and the audience award should be spent on visiting medical congresses.


Plenary presentation: First year jury award
This award has something special, as the jury exists of first year medical students only. They will judge the plenary presentations without any expectations, as they don’t have much experience with research. The winner of this award receives a one-year subscription to a well-known scientific journal.


Oral award
This prize is awarded to the best orally presented research selected out of all the oral sessions, judged by the ISCOMS session supervisors. The winner will receive a one-year subscription to a well-known scientific journal.


Poster award
This prize is awarded to the best poster presentation selected out of all the poster presentations, judged by the ISCOMS session supervisors. The winner will receive a one-year subscription to a well-known scientific journal.


Performance award
This prize is for the best oral and the best poster performance out of all the different oral and poster sessions. These two awards will be judged by the ISCOMS organization supervisors. These awards focus on the aspect of good presentation skills; we want students to pay attention to their presentation skills. The two winners will receive a one-year subscription to a well-known scientific journal.


    Abstract award
  • Clinical sciences
  • Basic sciences
  • Health sciences and primary care
  • The best abstracts will be awarded. For the different topics our official jury will select three winners. They will receive a prize of a €100.


World Health award
This is awarded to the best developing country-related research. This means that either the presenter comes from a developing country or the subject of the research affects developing countries. The award will be judged by Prof. Dr. Th. Smit Sibinga, director of Sanquin World Health Organisation Collaboration Centre Groningen. The winner of this award will receive a one-year free subscription to the WHO journal of public health.


Session winners
In every poster and oral session the best presentation will be selected. Per session the winner will receive a certificate.
