Sessions
After the abstract selection procedure, which is carried out by the ISCOMS organisation with help of experienced researchers and professors, the selected abstracts will be placed in three different types of sessions: in plenary, oral or moderate poster sessions. Oral and moderate poster sessions are chaired by an experienced researcher from the UMCG and a student from the ISCOMS organisation.
Plenary presentations
From all of the submitted abstracts, the top 10 abstracts will be selected for a plenary presentation. The presentations will be performed in the main lecture hall (Blauwe Zaal). This luxureous conference area has a capacity of approximately 400 people. The official jury will select and award one of the plenary presentations, as will the audience.
Oral presentations
The oral presentations will take place in a smaller setting. This allows for a lot of interaction and opportunities to ask questions. There will be about 23 sessions spread out over two days. The sessions will be divided into different catagories to cover different topics, and will be supervised by an experienced researcher in that field together with a student from the ISCOMS organisation. At the end of the session, the session chairs announce the winner of the session. The winner can compete for the over-all "oral presentation award" and "oral performance award".
Moderate poster presentations
In our moderate poster sessions presenters will be able to present their poster in front of a small audience. We offer about 30 poster sessions in two days. Each session has its own subject, and will be chaired by an experienced researcher in that field together with a student from the ISCOMS organisation. At the end of the session, the session chairs announce the winner of the session. The winner can compete for the over-all "poster presentation award" and "poster performance award".
